Our Services

We provide support to anyone over the age of eighteen years irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, religion, or ethnic background.
We can visit you at home but we can also help you get out and about to enable you to rebuild your confidence.
Assist provides one to one support to people who are lonely; people who are recovering from illness or accident; and people who need help to get back 'on their feet' after a setback in life.

Our volunteers get alongside people who need encouragement, friendship or advice to help them get through a difficult time because of depression, bereavement, breakdown in family relationships or other stress full life event.
We can Assist you to obtain help from other services or accompany you to an appointment where you feel you need some support.
If you just need a listening ear then we are here for you.

We couldn't list all the different ways in which we might be able to help you but if you are struggling in some way give us a call and if we can't help we will find someone who can.

1-2-1 Support

How it works

You can refer yourself or we accept referals from the following sources:

  • Healthcare professionals
  • Social care agencies
  • Voluntary organisations
  • Relatives friends and neighbours

We come out and visit you to see how we can help.  Then we find a suitable volunteer and arrange another meeting to discuss a plan of action.  This might include visits to your home or we could also get you out and about to help you to rebuild your confidence.  Whatever your requirements we will listen to you and tailor the plan to meet your particular needs.  Care plans normally last between 6 weeks and 3 months but can be longer if needed.  We have regular reviews with yourself and the volunteer to ensure everyone is happy with the arrangements and on completion we will ensure that you are satisfied that progress has been made.

If you would like to refer yourself or someone you know please contact Assist.
